The positive hype about Man of Steel doesn’t seem to be going away. In fact, as we approach the June 14 release date for the film, it seems that the hype is only increasing on this latest cinematic take on Superman. Of course it’s an understatement to say that a lot’s riding on Man of Steel’s success, and not just the reputations of the actors and filmmakers behind it, but once again their are rumblings that Man of Steel director Zack Snyder is on the short list, or at the top of the short list, to get behind the camera on Justice League.
Today’s source is another filmmaker, Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. And while talking to Screen Crush on the occasion of the DVD release of his latest film, Gangster Squad, Fleischer was asked if he might be in the running for the Justice League, to which he replied, “[T]hat’s something that Zack Snyder is going to wind up doing.”
Really? How does Fleischer know? Well, he is good friends with Snyder, and his Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall wrote that infamously terrible draft of the Justice League script. More to the point though, what does Fleischer mean by saying Snyder’s “going to wind up” making the film? Is it a done deal? Is he just supposing? Maybe he’s giving his two cents and putting a plug in for an old friend? Either way, if the positive buzz on Man of Steel is legit, then Warner Bros is going to definitely be taking a good, hard look at putting Snyder to work on Justice League.
What do you Bastards think? Snyder on Justice League: Yay or Nay?
