Producer Neal Moritz has been bringing us movies for a few decades now. Most of these are complete rubbish, such as the long-lived Fast and Furious franchise that won’t seem to die, but it looks like he may be changing his tune. There are a couple of projects of his that will make comic geeks squeal with joy, and they look to be coming closer to reality – Garth Ennis’s Preacher and The Boys. In a recent interview with Collider, Moritz had a few updates on the possibility of bringing these two properties to life.
He had this to say about work on Preacher:
We’re actually talking about a little different direction on it. It is a priority, but it’s one of those that is—a very hard movie to get made in Hollywood today. But we’re really working on it.
And comment on The Boys:
The Boys we’re working on with Adam McKay right now. He would love to do it and we’re in the middle of working on it right now.
So, nothing big, but at least they’re still on his mind. Preacher for one has seen so much failure among potential adaptations that I’d really like to see someone bring the damn thing to the screen, even if it is Moritz.
Thanks to ComicBookMovie for the heads-up.
