Yesterday in our Iron Man 3 roundup we shared a video of Ben Kingsley –excuse me, SIR Ben Kingsley discussing his role as The Mandarin in Iron Man 3, but he also spoke briefly about Ender’s Game. We’ve learned a little about the flick from the few released photos, but without any footage yet released we’re still in the dark about what this adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s classic will be like.

This new photo of Kingsley as Mazer Rackham doesn’t provide a whole lot more, but we do get a fantastic look at that awesome Maori tribal tattoo on his face. Make sure you click it for a bigger version.

Talking with Entertainment Weekly about his role, Kingsley said,

In the script, which I think is beautifully written, what come across is the authority and mystery. There’s quite a lot said about him in the story  before you see him — by the recruits and by his fellow officers — and that’s useful as far as preparations.

And of that face tat,

Every gesture in the tattoo carries family history, family struggles – it’s your past. I was so enthralled. He’s in quite a contained, stylized uniform but then this wonderful face tells his warrior history.

The detail is enthralling, can’t wait to see what it looks like up a giant movie screen! What do you think of the look they’ve given Kingsley’s Rackham?
