Batman’s First Christmas is Bone-Crunchingly Fun in Full Cinematic Trailer for ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’
So far, the news of the new Arkham game, Batman: Arkham Origins hasn’t exactly had me going out of my mind with excitement, and that’s because this one isn’t coming from Rocksteady. And it isn’t a continuation of Arkham City, Paul Dini has no involvement, and it won’t feature Mark Hamill as The Joker. That isn’t to say it’ll be a bad game, but already so much is different I’m a little worried.
Then came the news Kevin Conroy will indeed be back as Batman, and a sighed a little sigh of relief. Now, a new cinematic trailer has hit and it has me all the more relieved, and finally, a little excited. While there’s still no gameplay footage – what everything really hinges on – this trailer gives a good impression of the artistry Warner Bros. Montreal is capable of and their vision for game. Which is, a totally sick fight between Batman and Deathstroke, with a couple surprise guests.
I’m ready for a movie! How fun was that to have Deadshot appear!? If that’s how the game will flow, villains popping in and out as Batman tries to keep the peace, this might actually be a fun diversion from what we’ve played in Asylum and City. And, it’ll be super cool to roam all of Gotham City, especially on Christmas Eve.
There’s also a few new shots that have been released, including our first look as The Joker, who yes, will appear, but no, isn’t be voiced by Hamill. It’s another change that has me seriously worried, but my verdict will be held until I hear what new guy, Troy Baker, does.
Batman: Arkham Origins is releasing October 25th. Think you’ll pre-order for the chance to play as Deathstroke?
