Jennifer-Lawrence-X-Men-Days-Of-Future-Past1

As everybody was already aware, Jennifer Lawrence will be reprising her role from X-Men: First Class as Raven Darkholme, AKA Mystique (the only character in comic book history whose birth name is cooler than their “super” alias) in the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Below, we see Miss Lawrence on set in full Mystique regalia. To be honest, her portrayal of the shapeshifting mutant was one of the few things about First Class that I didn’t care for (that, and January Jones totally phoning it in as Emma Frost).

However, I’m liking her look in this film better somehow…I couldn’t tell you WHAT about her character design in DOFP is superior, but I like it a lot, and I have high hopes for both the character and the film.

Lawrence is joined in some of these photos by a woman who looks like the 1970s incarnate. Fans speculate that this could be Misty Knight, though if you’re not big into the X-Men comics, the first names that pop in your head will likely be either Foxy Cleopatra or Pam Grier, depending on your age:

Don’t worry: They’re not all robed pics (I was thinking I’d been had at this point 😉 )

Um….

Okay, how do I approach this delicately and maturely?

I know this is a body suit, but it’s supposed to be skin…and something’s–off.
Let’s just say…..where most people have two….well….
Apparently, in addition to her metamorph abilities, Mystique has an additional mutant feature.

There’s no other way to say it, folks: Mystique has a “unibutt”.

I was used to the fact that she had no nipples: I’d accepted that as a concession made to Western prudishness…but I’d never seen this before. I guess they were careful to use creative camera angles and shading in the previous films, or maybe they touch her up with CGI.

Good thing she can shapeshift, I guess 😛

Anyhoo, X-Men: Days Of Future Past is currently filming, and is due in theatres July 18 of next year.
