Star Dwayne Johnson has to find something to do with his spare time while waiting to be case in the next Fast and Furious film, and what better role to take than that of a legendary muscle-bound powerhouse? His opportunity comes in the form of a new version of Hercules. This one is being put together by that train-wreck of a director, Brett Ratner and it looks like the film has finally begun filming. And since that’s the case, they’ve released the official synopsis of the flick, to get your mouth watering. Check it out below:
Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend…
Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.
And apparently, there’s another Hercules flick coming to the screen in 2014 as well, so we’ll be getting a double-dose of the muscle guy with a sword premise.
You can check out Ratner’s version (if you dare), when it releases on July 25th, 2014.
Thanks to screenrant for the heads-up.
