Pryde’s Picks 6/12/13 – Comic Book Reviews

EDITORS NOTE: Attention readers of Nerd Bastards: We are proud to present our newest comic book column and Youtube personality Kelly Carlton (aka F’N Pryde), which follows in the footsteps of some of our past, excellent attempts at telling you all about comicdom. So, who is F’N Pryde, well, ‘Ole Pryde here is a badass, foul mouthed comic connoisseur and she’s here to give you a run down of this week’s latest comics in a segment called “Pryde’s Picks”. Enjoy!

Ahoy squirts! Kelly’s back, back again, tell a friend. After my warm welcome to Nerd Bastards last week, this comic book confidant is tickled pink. I’m so jazzed to be sharing my passion with the audience here. You guys and gals are great! Special thanks to Sarah Moran for the sister love she shared last week, and boo to commenter NerdFury who thought I was a pseudo nerd girl. I shake my fist at thee!

So, lets talk comics shall we? This week I have a bunch of Marvel (Wolverine and the X-Man #31, Guardians of the Galaxy #3, Astonishing X-Men #63) a bunch of DC (Batman Zero Year #21, Superman Unchained #1, Masters of the Universe #1), a little Image (The Walking Dead #111) and a crap load of Dark Horse (Buffy the Vampire Slayer #22 X #2 and Killjoys #1) to get through. I was left wondering if Iceman was a pimp daddy or having a psychotic break, I openly express my opinion on Rocket Raccoon’s favorite battle cry and express my contempt for Jim Lee’s blatant attempt at showing me how big his PEN really is, and MOAR!

If you’re a comic book fan or new to the medium, my irreverent and lighthearted reviews are bound to offend and delight… consider yourself warned!
