If you’ve been waiting for a Police Academy alum to make a movie based on cryptozoology, you’re in luck! (Unless of course you wanted Michael Winslow to make a movie about the Jersey Devil, in that case you still have to wait.)
80’s comedian turned movie maker Bobcat Goldthwait (World’s Greatest Dad, God Bless America) has made Willow Creek, a found footage film based on the legend of Bigfoot.
The movie will premiere at the 2013 Independent Film Festival of Boston and will be featured at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal. You can get a taste with the trailer and synopsis below.
Jim and his girlfriend Kelly are in Willow Creek, California, to retrace the steps of Bigfoot researchers Patterson and Gimlin, who, in 1967, recorded the most famous film of the legendary monster. Kelly is a skeptic, along for the ride to spend time with her boyfriend between acting gigs. Jim, a believer, hopes to capture footage of his own, so his camera is constantly rolling.
OK, I know. It looks a little Blair Witch-y in the fact that it looks exactly like the Blair Witch but with a Sasquatch. Hey, it was this or a Harry and the Hendersons gritty reboot, so be thankful for that.
Dirty Harry and The Hendersons.
