Chronicle writer Max Landis has some issues with Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel and he’s taken to the You-Tube airwaves to get his point across. It’s a well thought out argument, delivered with a passion that other comic book fans can at least appreciate, if not agree with. Max’s rant is well worth a listen, check it out and met me on the other side to discuss.
What did you think? Has Max got a point? Has the need to have bigger and bigger effects and destruction gotten in the way of delivering real characterization in super hero movies? Chronicle was a fantastic story and turned out to be a fine film. Landis’ street cred is good with me.
What I’d really like to see is Landis and Quentin Tarantino sit down for a dinner and discussion about super hero movies and stories. Hell, I’d buy a theater ticket to see that.
