Often, new movies and television shows use Twitter as a marketing tool. Sometimes it’s cool, other times awesome, – like director Joss Whedon using the Much Ado About Nothing account which led to his own, personal Twitter account – and then there’s those awful attempts that feel like your parents trying to be hip with the cool kids. Thankfully, the new account, @MotherF_cker, which is of course around to promote Kick-Ass 2, is the awesome kind. As in, it reads just as if you were following The Mother F%&*^r on Twitter. Which, I guess, now you are.
The only thing that could possibly make this better is if it was Christopher Mintz-Plasse running the account, but at least whomever they’ve got doing it is doing a bang-up job as the evil asshole.
There’s this new clip released as well, heralding The Mother F%&*^r’s tweeting,
And last I checked, @MotherF_ucker’s got over 2,ooo followers. Will you be one of them?
Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.
Kick-Ass 2 hits theatres on August 16th.
