Just a few more weeks till San Diego Comic Con, and if you’re going you’re going to need to seriously start thinking about where you’re going to be, what you’re going to see and when. Sony, it seems, has just made that harder with the announcement that amongst their Comic Con offerings will be the next Amazing Spider-Man and the new RoboCop.
According to the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex (via Comic Book Movie) blog, both films have been confirmed for prime slots at the Con. On Friday, July 19th Amazing Spider-Man newcomers Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn) will join Comic Con regulars Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and director Marc Webb in panel to discuss the upcoming Spidey-sequel. On the RoboCop side, director Jose Padilha will be joined by stars Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish and Samuel L. Jackson to discuss the remake of the cult classic film.
Wrapping up Sony’s slate at Comic Con are Anna Faris, Terry Crews and directors Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn fronting for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, while Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, director Harald Zwart and author Cassandra Clare are appearing for the upcoming fantasy movie, The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones.
Marvel Studios also announced its slate of panels for Comic Con so look for panels featuring Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier on Saturday July 20 on the famed Hall H stage. Who’s going to be there? Well, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige for one. Anyone else? Not sure yet. All we know, according to Deadline, is that there will be “many special guests” joining Feige on the Hall H stage. Chris Evans? Maybe. Chris Hemsworth? Possibly. Scarlett Johannson? Hopefully.
