Director Guillermo Del Toro is making the press rounds for his latest sci-fi blockbuster, Pacific Rim. In this video interview with MTV News, the director is asked about his Justice League Dark project made up of many of the supernatural heroes of the DC Universe, and he gives a brief update about the his current work and prospects for the DC Comics film.

I’m writing it right now, I’m re-writing the outline, we have a writer that we’re waiting for.

When Del Toro was asked if he would consider putting Justice League Dark in the larger DC cinematic universe, including it in the world of this summer’s hit, Man of Steel‘s universe, Del Toro seemed open to the idea.

I think the thing about the ‘Dark Universe,’ you have this possibility of basically creating a supernatural group, and you can play by different rules, but I would love to see the DC Universe become as cohesive as the Marvel film universe. So if there’s any correlation, I will honor it.

On a separate note, Del Toro was also asked whether or not the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series effectively canceled his plans for a Hulk television series. His comment about it is an interesting look at how projects stall and the strange way Hollywood works sometimes.

Take a look at the interview below and let us know what you think about the whole project, can he pull it off?
