With all the madness of San Diego Comic Con about to burst – Psst! Follow our SDCC coverage here – you’d think they could have held off on the announcement of the Primetime Emmy nominations by at least a week. I mean, come on, don’t they realize we have toy exclusives to report on!

But announced them they have, and as expected, a few standout series are leading the pack. Game of Thrones has nabbed 16 nominations including Best Outstanding Drama Series,  Peter Dinklage for Outstanding Supporting Actor (Still supporting!? What does this guy gotta do to get recognized as a lead actor!?), Emilia Clarke for Outstanding Supporting Actress (Okay… beginning to think no one from GoT is considered a lead, and that’s bullshit.), Outstanding Guest Actress for Dame Dianna Rigg, and Outstanding Writing for “The Rains of Castamere” by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Sadly though, Thrones didn’t get the most noms, that title goes to American Horror Story: Asylum with its 17 nominations. Other big nomination earners were Breaking Bad with 13, Mad Men and Downton Abbey with 12, Homeland with 11, and Boardwalk Empire with 10. Netlflix’s House of Cards, proving you don’t need to air on television in order to get nominated, picked up nine.

On the comedy side of things, SNL leads with 15, followed by 30 Rock with 13, Modern Family with 12, and The Big Bang Theory with eight.

You can find the complete list of nominations of the Emmy’s website. Who’d you like to see win? Who do you think got snubbed?
