Just Another Reason Hasbro Is Awesome: Marvel’s Thunderbolts and Transformer’s Metroplex SDCC Exclusives
I’ve always been a big advocator for Hasbro Toys. And that’s not because they send me free swag (OK, maybe that does sway me a little bit). This purveyor of plastic toy things get my attention by dominating the marketplace with their Transformers, Star Wars, G.I. Joe and Marvel lines, and because they offer the coolest of collectibles. Case in point: I came home from my honeymoon last night (yeah, Mrs. Nerd Bastards and I got married, w00t!) to find a big ole’ 3 foot tall (that’s taller than Kenny Baker) box on my door step. Now, I don’t always open packages, but when I do, I tear into it as if it’s the most important thing. My eyes widened… Hasbro sent Nerd Bastards two of the biggest and best of it’s 2013 San Diego Comic Con Exclusives: Transformers Metroplex and Marvel’s Thunderbolts.
Holy waffles! I’m speechless (well, not really, else this would be a pretty boring post). This is what I mean by cool. Not many toy companies have the bankroll or interest to produce such big and high quality items such as these; event exclusives no less.
Here’s some more info on Thunderbolts and Metroplex:
Marvel Legends Thunderbolts ($89.99)

The set includes Judith Chambers, Ghost, Crossbones, Cage and Moonstone. The figures are based on designs by Thunderbolts comic artist Kev Walker. The packaging is made to look like the Thunderbolts tower. I, for one, don’t know much about the Thunderbolts (little behind on my Marvel reading) but imma start catching up. This is a super awesome set. It’s such a mighty looking display.

The Transformers generation Titan Class Metroplex is the largest converting Transformer toy at over 2 feet tall.
