Fans are still divided over whether or not DC or Marvel won this year’s Comic Con, and the two camps of the publishing houses’ most ardent fans will always be in disagreement. But no matter what side of the line you’re on, there’s no denying the amount of energy in the room when Warner Bros. made their Superman/Batman announcement. Finally, captured on video, we can all share in the thrilling reveal.
All for a freakin’ logo! It’s mind-boggling, really. Good news is the logo does appear in the video, so that alone is worth the price of admission because you’re actually getting some of that precious, Hall H-exclusive footage. Give it a watch,
Admit it, cynics. Even if you hated Man of Steel, you got a little turned on by seeing those Bat ears pop up over Supes’ shield. Here’s a clearer look at that logo. Soon I expect an official copy will be released, so stay tuned.
What we know so far is this film will be a sequel to Man of Steel and is expected to release Summer 2015. The story is being written by Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer, who will then write the screenplay. Batman has not been cast, but Superman will again be played by Henry Cavill with most of his supporting cast returning as well. Including, I’ll assume, Harry Lennix since he played a part in this reveal and all. Oh! And that line he read, it’s from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. That story being the basis for the plot doesn’t seem likely, but it appears that team up – and by team up I mean fist fight – of Superman and Batman will probably influence how the two icons are brought together.
