Alfonso Cuaron’s ‘Gravity’ Gets Second Trailer: Sandra Bullock Suddenly Faces The Emptiness of Space
Looks like it’s going to be a busy day for Alfonso Cuaron‘s Gravity. First a clip, now a second trailer along with word that a third trailer/clip will be posted later tonight. The first clip was interesting and full of disastrous-accident action, this second trailer really sinks its teeth into the gut wrenching feeling of isolation Sandra Bullock‘s character, Dr. Ryan Stone, must be suddenly facing after the accident.
I have to say that while I was on the fence about buying a theater ticket to see this movie before, this trailer has certainly heightened my interest. The good news is that with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock on the ticket it won’t be hard to make this a date night movie. Now I just need to find a girl . . .
Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
Gravity hits theater screens on October 4th.
