I dunno about the rest of y’all, but I am generally looking forward to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Expectations have lead me to believe it’ll be a delightfully off-the-wall super hero epic. Being the basis of the film is about a group galactic protectors consisting of a gun-toting human (Star Lord), a green skinned destroyer (Drax), a regal tree creature of various size (Groot), an alien martial artist (Gamora) and a pistol-happy talking raccoon (Rocket Racoon) GOTG will not be a conventional movie, by any means. And I don’t think Marvel would have it any other way. I’d correlate it to watching the Star Wars cantina scene on acid. Or, maybe an episode of Farscape post toke. That kind of unapologetic weirdness really excites me. I’m confident it will be Marvels most freshest and fun flick to date.
So, who want’s to hear some Guardians news? I do. I do!
Rumor has it that James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy has found its Groot! Today, actor Vin Diesel took to Facebook and posted the below image:
Now, there’s a chance this is some tom-foolery from Diesel. Ever since he teased a meeting with Marvel Studios on his self-run Facebook page in June, The Fast & the Furious star has been toying with nerds. He had previously posted a photo of himself standing in front of the second issue of “The Avengers,” leading many to assume he was up for a role in Joss Whedon’s Marvel’s The Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron. So, which is it: Age of Ultron or Guardians of the Galaxy? I’d consider the latter to be quite a surprise. Considering, Groot, the living tree creature, only speaks the one phrase, “I am Groot!” (He was Marvel’s Pokemon before Pokemon was cool.) They’d hire Vin Diesel for one effin’ line!? *Laughs* OK.
Now providing a close up look, photos have surfaced from the London, Millennium Bridge set of Guardians of the Galaxy featuring aliens and Nova Corpsmen.
Loving the diversity of the aliens and practical sets, how about you?
