Ever since the Batman vs. Superman themed Man of Steel sequel was announced at Comic Con last month, comic book movie nerds have been going crazy (Guilty) with their own fantasy casting of the new Bruce Wayne, as well as the new Lex Luthor, who, although unconfirmed, is heavily speculated to be making his debut in the Man of Steel franchise in the upcoming film. And here have been rumors that Mark Strong or Bryan Cranston may be cast in the role.
Well, another actor, one who’s played the character before, is throwing his hat into the ring of contenders for the role– and he’s got the support of Marvel Comic’s legend, Stan Lee! Actually, I’m not sure that really matters, considering Man of Steel is a DC property and has nothing to do with Stan, but Smallville‘s Michael Rosenbaum is looking to reprise his role in the upcoming film, and Stan seems to think Rosenbaum was the best Lex Luthor we’ve seen yet. After a recent convention, Rosenbaum tweeted a picture of the autograph from Stan Lee, which was accompanied by the interesting proclamation.

So, what do you think? Is Rosenbaum’s Luthor the best we’re going to get, or would you rather see someone else interpreting the role? Personally, if we see anyone reprise their role from a previous series, I’m still pulling for Christian Bale to, somehow, sign on the dotted line to play the Caped Crusader once again. It seems unlikely, but a guy can dream.
