As of now we’re about four months away from the December 13th release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, part two of Peter Jackson‘s latest trilogy set in Middle Earth. With the date nearing it’s only a matter of time before we’re up to our ears in dwarves, wizards, and hobbitses. Oh! And one giant dragon.

Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on December 13, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece “The Hobbit,” by J.R.R. Tolkien. The film continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
