Well, it looks like another old classic may come out of the recycling bin to make some Hollywood wallets even fatter. This time around, it’s Rambo. But from the talk of it, they’re not looking at rebooting the series for the big screen or even continuing it, instead preferring to see the potential in taking the homicidal war veteran to television.
What’s more, it seems as if Sylvester Stallone himself will be involved in the series. He’s currently in talks with Entertainment One and Nu Image. For those that don’t know, these are the guys responsible for helping Stallone with the Expendables franchise, so we’re looking at some serious names and money trying to bring this one to the table.
If everything goes according to plan, Stallone will act as consultant on the series and may even star in it, though for how long and in what capacity remains to be seen. It’s still in early development, however, with little known other than the fact that people are interested in doing it, so we’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out.
What do the Nerd Readers think about it? Is Rambo a good franchise to convert to television? Would you sit down and watch John Rambo wandering around and getting into all sorts of crazy (and potentially violent) adventures?
