Really hope you’re not tiring of fantasy and fairy tales because judging by the new shows we’ll be seeing this fall, the networks sure haven’t. There’s already ABC’s Once Upon a Time and its upcoming spinoff, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. SyFy, no strangers to bringing their own spin to fairy tales, are developing a series based on L. Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz series called Warriors of Oz, CBS is adapting those same characters for their new medical drama, Dorothy, and now, NBC has ordered a new series from Siberia creator/showrunner Matthew Arnold called Emerald City.

Emerald City will draw from all 14 of Baum’s Oz books and will re-imagine the classic tales as something darker, and more akin to Game of Thrones (’cause everyone wants a piece of that pie). Will Dorothy be shacking up with lions, and tigers, and bears – oh my!? Seriously doubt that, this is NBC after all, but obviously the allure of having their own epic fantasy series is a strong one.

This fall it seems all of TV will be awash Oz’a green glow, what do you think of that? Is it a prime source from where we can get several good series, or are they over saturating the market?
