The potential for a third Bill & Ted flick has been in and out of the spotlight in recent years, sometimes moving forward and at other times falling off the grid. Though everyone involved seems to want to get it done, it’s still having troubles. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are both on board, the script is done and a director is attached. But lately, months and months of nothing. So what’s going on there, Mr. Reeves? In a recent interview, he had a few things to say about it:
“It’s a long story. There’s lots of subterfuge and conspiracy theories. There’s a whole thing… I might have to do one of those independent press, conspiracy, other-name kind of [statements] explaining why it hasn’t happened yet, because it’s pretty dark out there.
“…there is [a script]. There’s all sorts of stuff and it just can’t — it’s just — there’s darkness out there that’s keeping it from happening.
It’s not winning right now. It’s that part of the story where it’s looking grim. It’s the dark period of the idea!”
Wait… what the fk did he just say? Once again Keanu Reeves proves his mastery of words. So the movie has been delayed by some sort of unnamable force and that’s all anyone can say about it. Until we know more, just write this one off as a “probably never going to happen”.
Thanks to /film for the heads-up.
