Ever since Ridley Scott announced that he was planning a return to Blade Runner, many have been speculating as to exactly what that would entail. Previous reports have said that the sequel would only loosely involve the events of the first film and that it was unlikely that any of the old cast members would be returning. Now, it seems as if Harrison Ford has some other information that may conflict with previous assumptions.
In a recent interview with IGN, Ford had this small bit of insight to impart:
Yeah, we’ve been chatting about it… I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage again with him in the further telling of this story.
While that doesn’t necessarily mean we would see Deckard taking center stage, it could mean that Scott is thinking about tying the two flicks together a little closer. With so many other things on Scott’s plate, however, it could be a while before we hear anything more concerning Blade Runner 2, so for now we’ll just have to hold our breath and wait.
