Yesterday it was reported that Iron Man 3’s kid-sidekick Ty Simpkins was the first to be cast in the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel, Jurassic World. Well now he’s got a big brother, and he’s one of the Kings of Summer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Nick Robinson, who appeared in the indie hit The Kings of Summer earlier this year, has signed on for Jurassic World, the long-awaited third sequel to the 1993 blockbuster. Aside from Kings, Robinson is best known for being a regular on the Melissa & Joey, and also once guess starred on Boardwalk Empire.
So what does this mean for Jurassic World? Perhaps the unnamed brothers are central to the plot, their family will be in peril when the dinosaurs inevitably run amok again. The young boys are probably key since they’re the first two actors cast, but then again, kids in trouble with dinosaurs has been a recurring theme in the Jurassic Park movies.
Next up for casting maybe Bryce Dallas Howard, who is said to be in negotiations with producers. Could she be playing the mom? Colin Trevorrow will be directing a film based on script he co-wrote with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg is producing.
Jurassic World will be in theaters everywhere June 12, 2015.
