We’re a little over a week away from the release of Batman: Arkham Origins, and if you needed anymore of a reminder, two new kick-ass TV spots have been released. In the first clip, we get an evolution of Bruce Wayne’s face, from his reaction to his parents’ murder, all the way to being punched in it by Bane for the first time, and the second is a GameStop pre-order clip, hyping the exclusive Black Mask Challenge Maps.

This first commercial – from director Tim Miller and animation from Blur Studios – for the game takes a look at all of the things that have happened over the years to make Bruce Wayne into Batman, and shouldn’t have any problem getting you excited for the game’s release. This clip definitely sets a somber tone for the game, and I hope that at least part of the game is reflective of this. It’s our first chance to really play as a Batman that is still learning, and still vulnerable; this clip does a great job of expressing that.

In stark contrast to the above video, the ad for the Black Mask Challenge Maps is exactly what you’d expect from your typical, goofy GameStop pre-order commercials. It sure makes smashing a car door over a thug’s head look fun, though. Remember, if you want these challenge maps, you can get them for free by pre-ordering at GameStop, so make sure to get your pre-orders in.

Batman: Arkham Origins releases October 25th for Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and WiiU.
