DreamWorks Animation just announced there’s nothing up its sleeve . . . except for a new Rocky & Bullwinkle short featuring the legendary original voice of Rocket J. Squirrel, June Foray.

June Foray has been in just about every animated childhood favorite of mine at one point or another.  The all new short will be directed by Gary Trousdale (Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) from a script written by the writing team Thomas Lennon (That’s right, Lt. Dangle from Reno 911) & Robert Ben Garant (Deputy Travis Junior Reno 911).

Those two are hysterical, I can’t wait to see what they can do with Moose and Squirrel. They may end up with parts in the short, but that hasn’t been announced yet. Throw in that June Foray is back to reprise her voice work as Rocky and this thing has winner written all over it.

Executive Producer Tiffany Ward had this to say:

For an incredible 83 years, June Foray has left a tremendous imprint on the entire entertainment industry.  Her amazingly indelible performances have enchanted generations and earned her a permanent place in the annals of popular culture.

I’m sure by now you’re all wondering, “But who’s voicing Bullwinkle Moose?” None other than SpongeBob SquarePants himself, Tom Kenny.

DreamWorks Animation also announced the March 7th, 2014 release for our favorite time traveling boy and dog, Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Most likely we’ll see the Rocky & Bullwinkle short attached as part of that release.
