It’s one of those questions that come up from time to time. Why the hell didn’t Obi-Wan just tell Luke the WHOLE truth about his father? Hell, he outright lied to the boy! I’ve often thought that screwed up the little bit of training Obi-Wan was able to give Luke, but perhaps Obi-Wan’s hands were tied. Tied by a higher power. Now we’ve got some unused footage that clears the whole thing up.
“Return of the Jedi long lost Edit Droid Laserdisc Discovered,” has a Facebook page and they recently uploaded some unused footage from Return of the Jedi. Yoda is on his death-bed, spilling the beans on why Obi-Wan lied to Luke. This is the kind of thing that could change many fan perspectives about two of the franchises greatest Jedi’s of all time, or at least question the all choices those two made.
What did you think? Obi-Wan was just following orders from Yoda. He obviously wasn’t as strong as his old master Qui-Gon Jinn or he might have stood up to Yoda and told Luke the truth. How do you think this could have changed Luke’s story?
Do you think this would have changed any of the Star Wars mythos?
