With DC’s two biggest superheroes going head-to-head in the Man of Steel sequel, there’s been heavy speculation as to what other prominent DC characters might show up in the flick. Could we see Dick Grayson? Maybe an appearance by Lex Luthor? There has even been a rumor making rounds that Wonder Woman is all but confirmed to show up, in some form or another, and a recent casting call may have confirmed it.
Now, the casting in question, described as looking for a woman that’s “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic,” has got everyone in a fit and expecting a big screen appearance from Princess Diana. While the actresses that have tried for the role, namely Olga Kurylenko, Gal Gadot, and Elodie Young, are all suitable candidates to play a big screen Wonder Woman, I think we might all just be overspeculating.
After Thor’s Jaime Alexander mentioned the possibility the heroine making an appearance in the colossal superhero team-up while speaking at the Comikaze event last week, people are searching for any little shred of evidence to support it. Every little bit of news about the Batman Vs. Superman movie gets crammed into the idea that she’ll be making an appearance, and I think this may be the case here. Is it really unusual for movies to have pretty women as their leads? Batman needs someone to protect, along with the city of Gotham, after all. Given the amount of enthusiasm surrounding these rumors, I think that WB will let it be known, should they decide to write Wonder Woman into the script.
So, Nerd Bastard readers, take this with a grain of salt for now, and we will be sure to let you know once there is something official. In the mean time though, would you pick any of these three actresses for the role of Wonder Woman, or would you pick someone else entirely? Let us know in the comments!
