A new featurette (a Denny’s exclusive) for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has hit, which puts attention on a fan-favorite character who’s been largely absent from the movie’s marketing thus far, Beorn the skin-changer. There’s no footage of the character himself, but we do hear from actor Mikael Persbrandt and the rest of the cast on what it was like shooting on the giant set.
Just when you think they’ve spoiled a movie with all the trailers (especially the last one), you still come away feeling fangasmic at every new release. Shame we didn’t get to actually see Mikael as the eight-foot Beorn. Oh well, only one month left! Jumping up and down in my chair in anticipation of this most amazing movie!
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
December 13th (mark your calenders) is when The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes sweeping into theaters.
