So, the trailer for Divergent, starring Shailene Woodley, has hit the web, and it’s… meh. Obviously looking to capitalize on the futuristic dystopian theme that’s become so popular in The Hunger Games, Divergent seems a bit too similar, and even more farfetched.
Wow. It was actually hard to get through that trailer, and that was only just over two minutes. There were just so many teenaged girl movie clichés jammed into the trailer, channeling the aforementioned Hunger Games, Mortal Instruments, among others. Now, I actually enjoyed The Hunger Games, but the recycled themes that I saw from watching this trailer alone was overwhelming.
