Oh, I’m a Python Fan and I’m okay… The news coming from across the lake is that the boys of Monty Python are getting the band back together for a stage show. Could we hope for this to lead to a tour, perhaps a new TV show or special?
The exact details are still fuzzy for the moment, but yesterday Eric Idle tweeted this tantalizing tweet:
Only three days to go till the Python Press Conference. Make sure Python fans are alerted to the big forthcoming news event.

Terry Jones talked with the BBC and confirmed that the remaining members of the Monty Python comedy troupe, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin would all be involved in the production. Graham Chapman, who tragically died in 1989 will certainly be there in spirit, and one would expect some wink and a nod from the other members to his memory.
Jones went on to say:
We’re getting together and putting on a show – it’s real.
I’m quite excited about it. I hope it makes us a lot of money. I hope to be able to pay off my mortgage!
Idle was back on Twitter this morning with this to add:
Python meeting this morning. Can’t wait. Press Conference Thursday will apparently be live on Sky News. I’ll get you the online URL.

You can check Idle’s Twitter feed for when and where to tune in to the press conference using this link. Here’s hoping that the stage show, or whatever they decide to do, gets the same treatment and we can see it live on TV or the Internet.
As a life long Python I can’t help but hope that this might spark the possibilities of a new Python movie, television, or Internet series of specials. I’d love to add some new phrases to my Python D&D conversational references.
What do you think?
