Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary special airs tomorrow. Some would say Saturday can’t get here soon enough, well others couldn’t care less. Well (or “Wehl” as David Tennant would say it) this post is for those that care. The special is a pretty big deal, 50 years in the making and what not. I’ll admit this whole week as been a little crazy with all the Doctor Who related offerings. Even a massive Whovian like myself is beginning to buckle under the weight of it all. But, it’s all in good fun. Speaking of fun, have you been to Google today? There’s a rad Doctor Who inspired doodle – a playable game really. It’s super fun, you should check it out.
It’s an 8-bit platform game in which you play the Doctor through all his 11 incarnations.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Timelord, this epic multi-level Doodle has been in the works for four months. At the Googleplex in Mountain View, it became known as the “Whodle.” The company says it’s the largest interactive Doodle yet created.
Your goal as the Doctor is to retrieve all of the letters in “Google” and return them to your TARDIS, while avoiding the exterminating Dalek. Fall afoul of the evil Dalek and you regenerate into the next Doctor down the line.
I’ve been playing it all morning, it’s super addictive. What’s your high score? Let us know in the comments below.
