Lord of the rings cake pops

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

ABOVE: The gang at Let them Eat Cake Pops made a series of Lord of the Rings cake pops, including the One Ring and Gollum. The detail on these is really incredible. Check out Between the Pages to see the rest.

This is a bit different from the usual nerdy wedding rings we’ve featured on this site…. but it’s way more awesome, too! There’s no better way to say “I’ll love you forever” than with a dinosaur bone wedding ring! Of course, as Geekologie points out, this ring might also spell disaster, because it also includes meteorite…. but hey, I still think nothing says “I love you” like commemorating the dinosaur apocalypse.

Celebrate the holidays with the Lannisters, Targaryens, Starks, Baratheons, Greyjoys, and Tyrells and use these Game of Thrones coasters at your next festive party. [ThinkGeek]

Apparently, Batman shops at West Elm! I really figured he’d shop at some place a little more pricey and exclusive. See what else your favorite superheroes are up to over at Ed Fred Ned.

Is a Wookie made out of gingerbread a ‘Gingerwookie’ or ‘Wookiebread?’ I don’t know, but either way, I’m making these this year. [Pinterest]

George Takei has his own perfume….. Guys, I can’t think of anything witty to say about this, but it does sound like it smells good – it has notes of ginger, jasmine, freesia and bergamot, among other things. You can pre-order it at Amazon. [Neatorama]

moffat haters

This Dorkly comic details the 12 types of Doctor Who fans. Yes, I would fall under number 7 (pictured above), but the full comic (here) reveals that we’re all really over thinking things.

Geek in Heels created this fabulous Star Wars personality chart based on the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Test. I’m Obi-Wan! The only thing I don’t like about this chart is the appearance of Jar-Jar. I thought we were all pretending he never existed… or is that just me?

I really wish I’d known about this incredible Magic: the Gathering musical this weekend, because I spent my weekend at a friend’s house with about 10 other people who were doing nothing but playing Magic. This video is a little less than 30 minutes long, but it’s worth the watch. [Geeks Are Sexy]

“YOU CAN’T SIT WITH US!!” Alright, I’m kind of disappointed that no one in this Mean Girls spoof says that line. They also don’t say anything about wearing pink on Tuesdays (because you know Legolas wears pink at least once a week), but it’s still hilarious…. especially the cameo at the very end.
