If you thought Jamie Foxx’s character design for Electro (looks more like Darth Smurf) in Amazing Spider-Man 2 was bad, wait ’till you get a load of one of the films secondary baddies. He’s green, he’s mean… he’s a turnip head?
Here’s a close-up of one of the 3 villains displayed on the international triptych poster for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which we posted the other day.
That sure looks like actor Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin. Or at least, it definitely isn’t Chris Cooper, who plays Norman Osborn, who is traditionally the Goblin. What’s going on here? More importantly, why does the Goblin look like Billy Idol on crack (is that hair or a mutated head)? Seriously, this is shitty. This is SyFy channel shitty. Can’t wait to see emo Parker jazz-hand himself out of this one.
A trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit this Thursday, maybe then we’ll get a better of what the deal here is with Goblin Jr. Hmm, here’s a thought. We know Osbourn is deathly ill and scientists are feverishly trying to save/extend his life. Maybe the Goblin formula de-ages his appearance, making him young, vital and rebel yell.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2, 2014.
