There’s a new trailer making the Internet rounds for director Noam Murro‘s 300: Rise of an Empire, the second film in the 300 franchise. It’s got all the slow motion sword swinging action any fan of the 300 franchise can hope for.
The trailer seems to be a bit of the oversell to me. I’m wondering what was left out of the plot. Will there be any surprises? All the major players are there and although some effort was made to explain who Artemesia is and what she’s doing, aside from her being some kind of bloodthirsty super bitch, I was left confused as to her motive. Perhaps that will be the one thing left that we’ll find out about in the movie.
Frank Miller‘s Xerxes is the source material for the movie. It tells the story of the Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) as he attempts to unite Greece to defeat the Persian Empire led by the self-made-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green).
The film hits theater screens on March 7th, 2014 and stars Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, Rodrigo Santoro, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell and Andrew Tiernan.
