Hopefully by now you’ve all had a chance to chill out from this morning’s revelation of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer. Undoubtedly you’ve watched it several times now to uncover it’s hidden secrets and Easter eggs, because, let’s face it, you just can’t help yourself. But if you’re looking for insight, Total Film has something for you, specifically a version of the Spider-Man trailer with color commentary from director Marc Webb and members of the cast. What do they have to say about the film? Read on and watch the video, dear reader.
The eight-and-a-half minute commentary trailer is almost four times as long as the actual trailer, but you do get some interesting insights into the production, like why Rhino looks like a “Bay-former,” Emma Stone‘s first time playing a character for the second time, and Andrew Garfield‘s apparent suicidal tendencies(?). Jamie Foxx also gets a chance to talk, but it’s Webb who offers a telling commentary on exactly who the film’s villain will turnout to be.
The big prominent villain in this film is Electro, but there are many adversaries that Spider-Man’s gonna have to face. But the evil empire — the consistent thing between them all — is the evil empire known as OsCorp, or what’s becoming this evil empire. That’s something that may inform people’s viewing of the trailer.
