Director Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla trailer that everyone has been waiting on has finally hit the Internet. Does Legendary’s reboot deliver the Godzilla Goods?
Director Gareth Edwards posted this intro for the trailer:
Check out the official synopsis and then watch the trailer. We can discuss a few things on the other side. I don’t want to color anyone’s opinion before they get a first look.
An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
My first impression is that Edwards is really trying to make you feel the scope and size as well as the destructive power that a creature like Godzilla would have. We all want to see the monster, but this trailer does a good job capturing the true horror of the beast without focusing it all on Godzilla.
That jump scene looked good, I can’t wait to see them try to take on Godzilla or whatever their mission might be. I am confident we won’t see a taxi cab/Godzilla chase scene in this movie.
The cast is full of talent, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins should bring some great mojo to the big screen. This will be the first movie Bryan Cranston has appeared in after his fantastic run on Breaking Bad. I can’t wait to see him bring his character to life in Godzilla.
