I generally dismiss entertainment magazines, what with their nonsensical celebrity gossip and 1000 different ways to get abs. On occasion, though, I’ll see a super hero on the cover and stop to say “oh that’s nice” and read the feature without buying it (so evil).

Empire magazine has unveiled two covers for its upcoming February issue and they both feature Captain America: The Winter Soldier. You can check out the regular cover and the Limited Edition Collector’s version below.

Uh, is it just me or did Empire just spoil the Winter Solider with the limited edition cover? In every trailer and online clip so far, the Winter Solider has been a masked assailant, alluding to his mystery and connection to Cap. Anyone who reads comics knows who the Winder Solider is, it’s common comic lore. To the rest of oblivious world, and those who saw the first film, his identity may come as a shocking twist. Something Marvel was definitely going for when they cut the trailers together. I doubt the average movie goer will recognize the face on the cover, but yeah…Empire pretty much ruined it. Good going.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

The April 4 release stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández.
