When not promoting her awesome Acting Outlaws charity with fellow Battlestar Galactica alum Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff keeps very busy pitching herself for various tentpole film franchises.
In an interview with Total Film, Sackhoff made it clear that she’d go to some pretty great lengths to get a foot in the door with either DC’s cinematic universe or the new Star Wars trilogy.
“I think I might give away my firstborn to have an opportunity to play Harley Quinn”, explains Sackhoff. She also mentioned wanting to play Wonder Woman, though it’s not clear if this is an older interview or if she’s unaware Gal Gadot won that role.
Switching gears to another mega-movie-universe, Sackhoff says “If J.J. would listen, I would play a rock in the Star Wars movies. I think that they’re fantastic, I think that he’s a great choice, and I’m excited to see what happens in that world.”
If she’s serious about wanting a Star Wars role, Sackhoff would do well to repeat those sentiments on a loop to anyone that will listen. About 15 years ago, Samuel Jackson took the same approach, and it ultimately led (for better or worse) to his role as Mace Windu in Episode I. He told the media repeatedly that he’d even play an anonymous Stormtrooper, as long as he knew that he was in the films.
Katee Sackhoff has an oddly light acting schedule for 2014. She’s wrapped up an indie crime drama called “Tell” that also stars Alan Tudyk. And Longmire‘s third season starts shooting some time this year, but perhaps she’s keeping her calendar clear in case J.J. Abrams or Zack Snyder come calling.
