Bryan Singer‘s X-Men “inbetweenquel”, Days of Future Past, promises to be the epitome of X-Men films, bridging the various generations of X-Men and spring boarding the franchise into the future. That is, if it doesn’t fall prey to the problems that have plagued many an X-Men movie (too many mutants, confusing plot lines, little to no character development, TOO MANY MUTANTS). Much will have to wait for the film’s release, but if you’re looking to get judgmental then by all means give us your opinion on Evan Peter‘s Quicksilver, recently revealed in this new photo,
Unfortunately he’s partially obscured – feel free to click it to embiggen – but as you can see he’s quite… umm… silvery. Not that this should be surprising, he’s got silver in the name why not silver in the costume, but… I’m unsure if an entire silver ensemble was the way to go. Or the plastic-y, pleather sheen on the coat. And are those goggles on his head? Is that a “K” I see peeking out from his coat? Is he seriously wearing a t-shirt that reads “Quicksilver” or even just “Quick”? I’ll withhold my full opinion until we see a clearer look at his outfit, but initially, I’m not wowed. Then again I don’t know what I was expecting. He surely wasn’t going to be wearing a traditional speed suit.
In addition to our first look at Quicksilver (as well as an obvious clue we’ll see Magneto incarcerated at some point, judging from his outfit which is similar to what McKellen wore in X2) Entertainment Weekly shared another new still,
“Now Beast, Wolverine, play nice.”
“We weren’t doing nothing!”
X-Men: Days of Future Past opens May 23 and stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackmans, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.
What do you think of Quicksilver’s duds?
