Yes, “Iranian Vampire Western” is now more than just a really badass idea for a band name. Presenting: A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night–Iranian director Ana Lily Amirpour‘s first film.
Stay tuned for the teaser trailer, poster and more–after the jump.
A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. It is being produced by a relatively new indie production company called SpectreVision created by Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings, Sin City), writer/producer Daniel Noah and producer Josh C. Waller.
Here’s a very brief–but atmospheric and tantalizing–trailer courtesy of Indiewire:
Not much, I admit…but enough to pique my interest–especially when paired with this description and poster supplied by AICN:
Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire stalks its most unsavory inhabitants. But when boy meets girl, an unusual love story begins to blossom… blood red.
I usually don’t get around to seeing indies until they come out on home video…But I could see taking the time and expense to find a theater that’s showing this flick 🙂
