It’s still a couple of weeks until the release of Justice League: War, the next film in the DC Comics Animated Universe series of films. Until then, why not skip ahead and take a look at their very next film: an adaptation of Son of Batman, the 2006 story line that (re)introduced the world to Damian Wayne, the son of… well, you know.
The first trailer for Son of Batman has been released though TV Guide, and it gives us a good idea of how the Grant Morrison/Andy Kubert series is being adapted, and how Damian is going to come across in his first film appearance.

The film features the voice talents of Jason O’Mara, who will reprise the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne from Justice League: War. The cast also includes Stuart Allan as Damian, Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Homeland) as Talia, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Revolution) as Ra’s Al Ghul, David McCallum (NCIS) as Alfred Pennyworth, Xander Berkeley (Nikita) as Man-Bat/Kirk Langstrom, and Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds) as Deathstroke.
Deathstroke, who is currently plaguing the titular hero of Arrow, will be the primary antagonist of the movie, in what might be the biggest departure from the book.
Son of Batman will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD sometime later this year.
