We reported on a rumor just over a week ago that Josh Holloway was in talks to play the role of Aquaman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, and while we don’t have anything that confirms or denies those rumors, Holloway has finally commented on them. What did the Lost star have to say about possibly joining the DC cinematic universe?
In an interview with IGN, discussing his starring role in the new hit TV show, Intelligence, Holloway touched on whether or not there’s any truth to those rumors, as well as if he’d be up for the role of Aquaman if it were offered to him,
It hasn’t been brought to my attention by my people, so maybe they’re just floating it softly around, but that would be cool! Sure, I think I’m available at the moment as we just wrapped up. I’m an actor, I like different roles. Batman movies are awesome, Marvel movies are awesome. But we’ll see, I’m on a series right now. I think they usually want to sign you up for several movies and I don’t know if you can do that when you’re committed to a series…
Well, he sure seems open to the idea, but that’s far from the confirmation we’ve all been looking for. With the rumor of Jason Momoa also being up for the role (and his denial of involvement), and the Batman vs. Superman movie being pushed back by almost an entire year, it could be a while before we know who’ll be showing up in this movie, and under what circumstances.
I’m hoping, as a Sawyer fan, that Holloway somehow ends up making an appearance as the King of Atlantis. Are you looking to see Holloway, Momoa, or someone else entirely as the Atlantean superhero? Let us know!
