It seems like every day we’ve got a bit of news or, at the very least, a fresh rumor surrounding the Man of Steel sequel. Everything from casting to storyline speculation to the inevitable Justice League film it will spawn. Well, today is no different, and we’ve got 11 new rumors for Batman vs. Superman!

Thanks to Latino Review, we’ve got a whole bunch of rumors for you to sink your teeth into, but take them with a grain of salt. These are just rumors at this point and there’s a good chance they’re totally bogus.

♦ The main villains are Lex Luthor and new-addition Metallo.
♦ Batman forms a United Nations-type organization to stop Superman from destroying another city, after Metropolis was flattened in Man of Steel.
♦ Aquaman is in it, but he is not called Aquaman. He’s introduced because the world engine from Man of Steel caused problems for fish and other creatures in the ocean.
♦ Wonder Woman poses as a Wayne Enterprises investor to retrieve an item that belongs to her people.
♦ Lex Luthor spends most of the film in the shadows, serving as a manipulator. He does not get much face time with Superman.
♦ Robin does feature into Batman’s history, and apparently betrayed Batman at some point, leading to a falling out between them.
♦ The Batcave is “super cool looking,” and the Batmobile has a similar look to the design Tim Burton used in his Batman films.
♦ Part of the plot revolves around Lois Lane investigating Lex Luthor.
♦ Metallo “kills” Clark. No more details on what that, exactly, means.
♦ The Daily Planet is purchased by Lex Luthor, who plans to use it to further his goals in the PR arena.
♦ The film ends with Superman living in exile, and the Justice League established as a government-approved superhero team.

So, what do you think? Personally, I’d be down for most of these rumors to be true and, if they are true, that they don’t get changed by the time the movie finally gets around to being made. If they are true, these seem to be a smooth way of working in everything that’s necessary for a Justice League film, while not limiting the movie to being strictly build-up for e Justice League.

With these potential plot points, and the possibility of Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow showing up, I’ve got some high hopes for when this movie hits theaters on May 6th, 2016. Let us know what you think of these rumors!

  • what?

Seems to be a lot less Superman in the Superman movie.

These are just plot points remember, there will be plenty of “Superman is Super” moments in between.

Plot points are very much the problem with MoS, it seems Goyer forgot that
A plot should be driven by character, and not story.
In other words, a plot shouldn’t be how you start to writewhat is in story, But more how your story ends. Character’s with their own desires drive plot, it shouldn’t just be a written screenplay where plot devices are thrown in here and there like in MoS.

Sorry, I should have been more specific as “Superman is Super” was my
catch-all for exploring Superman’s character as well as his actions. I didn’t have the same problems with MoS as you, but I certainly agree with your point generally – and I would hope that in between any plot points there IS plenty of character development. MoS certainly suffered in some areas and I would hope they improve with the sequel, just as TDK improved over Batman Begins and fixed the issues I had with the first film.

I actually don’t mind most of these. Bringing Aquaman in seems like overkill though. Perhaps he could be mentioned, in order to set up future appearances – like the Lexcorp trucks in MoS. I would also see Luthor creating a UN-type “No Superz Allowd” club and bringing Bruce Wayne into it, rather than Wayne starting it, but I guess making Batman more antagonistic at first which would fit with the BvS title. Although personally I am hoping they’ll change it to Batman and Superman: Friendship is Magic.

Sorry, I should have said that bringing in Aquaman is JUMPING THE SHARK!! Haha! Oh gods, so tired…..

As soon as Superman killed in the first movie and didn’t “carry” the fight outside metropolis, I had no hope for this movie. Superman started the Justice league, not Batman. All ties to the comics seems to have been severed in the mad rush for a money grab.
