It seems like every day we’ve got a bit of news or, at the very least, a fresh rumor surrounding the Man of Steel sequel. Everything from casting to storyline speculation to the inevitable Justice League film it will spawn. Well, today is no different, and we’ve got 11 new rumors for Batman vs. Superman!
Thanks to Latino Review, we’ve got a whole bunch of rumors for you to sink your teeth into, but take them with a grain of salt. These are just rumors at this point and there’s a good chance they’re totally bogus.
****POTENTIAL SPOILERS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!****
♦ The main villains are Lex Luthor and new-addition Metallo.
♦ Batman forms a United Nations-type organization to stop Superman from destroying another city, after Metropolis was flattened in Man of Steel.
♦ Aquaman is in it, but he is not called Aquaman. He’s introduced because the world engine from Man of Steel caused problems for fish and other creatures in the ocean.
♦ Wonder Woman poses as a Wayne Enterprises investor to retrieve an item that belongs to her people.
♦ Lex Luthor spends most of the film in the shadows, serving as a manipulator. He does not get much face time with Superman.
♦ Robin does feature into Batman’s history, and apparently betrayed Batman at some point, leading to a falling out between them.
♦ The Batcave is “super cool looking,” and the Batmobile has a similar look to the design Tim Burton used in his Batman films.
♦ Part of the plot revolves around Lois Lane investigating Lex Luthor.
♦ Metallo “kills” Clark. No more details on what that, exactly, means.
♦ The Daily Planet is purchased by Lex Luthor, who plans to use it to further his goals in the PR arena.
♦ The film ends with Superman living in exile, and the Justice League established as a government-approved superhero team.
So, what do you think? Personally, I’d be down for most of these rumors to be true and, if they are true, that they don’t get changed by the time the movie finally gets around to being made. If they are true, these seem to be a smooth way of working in everything that’s necessary for a Justice League film, while not limiting the movie to being strictly build-up for e Justice League.
With these potential plot points, and the possibility of Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow showing up, I’ve got some high hopes for when this movie hits theaters on May 6th, 2016. Let us know what you think of these rumors!
