No–this ain’t it… it doesn’t even look this good.
Follow me after the jump–if you dare…
I know, I know…
This pic first appeared on an unofficial Facebook fan page called TMNT Classics.
Let me start by saying, I don’t buy it–not for a second.
Oh, I’m not saying I expect Michael Bay‘s Turtles to look any better–but I do expect them to look slicker and more expensive. I realize this is just a child’s Halloween costume, and not what we’d see in the film, but even the basic design looks more like a parody of TMNT than anything else… and Bay isn’t that clever.
But he’s not a complete fool, either. No producer or studio would allow THIS to be the way the public first sees and judges their film’s character design… NOT if they had any intention of using it in their movie.
Don’t hold me to this, but based on the Transformers films, I expect the Bayturtles to resemble something between a bad anime and a sketch recovered from HR Giger’s wastebasket.
Honestly, this get-up would look more at home in Roger Corman‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
