A short while back, actress Gal Gadot confirmed that she had been signed up to play the iconic character of Wonder Woman in more films than just the 2016 Batman vs. Superman flick. And while she avoided detailing the exact scope of her contract, it has now come to our attention that there are very specific films that Warner Bros. is looking towards with regards to her involvement. Apparently, after Batman vs. Superman is over, she shall, if the studio continues to pursue its super hero movie barrage, be getting a spot in the Justice League film as well as a solo Wonder Woman flick. Read on for more.
It’s not unusual these days for actors to be signed up for multi-picture deals, particularly when it comes to super hero movies. The studios like to make sure they have their cast ready to go should the franchises prove profitable enough. This is not to say that these movies will actually get made – it really depends on whether Warner Bros. can keep the ball rolling and the money coming in.
Thus, while the news of Gadot’s involvement in Justice League and a Wonder Woman solo movie represent the course that WB wants to steer, Zack Snyder and his crew have to make sure Batman vs. Superman is a success before the powers-that-be will greenlight future movies. Of course, if the rumors about Justice League being shot back-to-back with BvS are true, we can expect to see Gadot appearing on the big screen at least twice.
All we can do now is wait and see what kind of interpretation Gadot will bring to his legendary character. And that, dear readers, we shall not know until Batman vs. Superman releases on May 6th of 2016.
Thanks to /film for the heads-up.
