The teaser that came out the other week promised some crazy Nazi-Zombie action in Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead, but even this NerdBastard didn’t think the trailer would end up delivering some of the most awesomely outrageous all-out-Zombie-killing action we’ve ever seen.Directed by Tommy Wirkola and starring: Vegar Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen, Martin Starr, Ørjan Gamst (the mighty Nazi Oberst Herzog), Ingrid Haas, Jocelyn DeBoer, Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead is looking like a fantastically over the top Zombie thrill ride of 2014.
Here’s the official synopsis:
If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you’d have to assume that things couldn’t get much worse. In Martin’s case, that was only the beginning.
Picking up immediately where the original left off, Dead Snow; Red vs. Dead wastes no time getting right to the gore-filled action, leaving a bloody trail of intestines in its wake. Director Tommy Wirkola returns to the helm with a vengeance, coming up with more inventive ways to maim and dismember than you ever thought possible. Combining wry humor with horrific worst-case scenarios, this follow-up to the 2009 Park City at Midnight classic is sure to shock the weak-of-heart and delight even the most hard-core fans of the horror genre. Colonel Herzog is back, and he is not to be f__ked with.
Take a look and meet me on the other side to discuss.
OK, that looks like a lot of fun. It reminds me of the transition that the Evil Dead franchise took when it went from Evil Dead to Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.
What did you think? If you haven’t seen the first film, would this trailer make you want to check it out?
I can’t help but watch every zombie movie I can put my hands on, even the ones, that I know going in, are horrible and clunky. I’ve always loved the Zombie genre.
