‘Arrow’ Shots Reveal Katrina Law as Nyssa al Ghul

She’s been a part of Lex Luthor’s Secret Society of Super Villains, she’s tried to assassinate Superman with Kryptonite bullets, and she’s one of the two inheritors of leadership in the League of Assassins, and now, Nyssa al Ghul is ready to make her live-action debut on next Wednesday’s episode of Arrow, and we’ve got the pics of actress Katrina Law playing the part.

In the episode “Heir to the Demon,” Nyssa comes to Starling City to lure back to the League the wayward Canary, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), but the Canary is trying to get out from under the League, and Nyssa’s unlikely to take no for an answer. (It’d be a pretty short episode if she did.) It also looks like Nyssa is going to cross paths with The Arrow himself, but will the Starling City Vigilante, or SCV if you like, stand idly by and let Nyssa take Sara while he broods a blue streak? I think we all know the answer. Anyway, it’s another fun little nod to the DC Universe, which Arrow’s been full of this season. But now how long till Ra’s himself takes a bow?

Check out the photos from “Heir to the Demon” below followed by some comments from one of Arrow’s executive producers.

Our Nyssa certainly has shades of Talia,” Andrew Kreisberg explained citing the more well-known daughter of Ra’s al Ghul. “Katrina auditioned for Shado and it actually came down to Katrina and Celina [Jade] and honestly, part of it was just that because we knew she’d have scenes with Slade [played by Manu Bennett], and it just felt like a Spartacus overkill. But she’s somebody that we’ve been a fan of. When this part came up, we saw a lot of people for it, but she certainly is exotic and beautiful and smart and our stunt guys are over the moon, because she can do a lot of her own stunts.”

Kreisberg added that Nyssa is, “the next wave of the League of Assassins that comes to Starling City. But she has some interesting secrets as well…

“Heir to the Demon” airs next Wednesday February 5 on The CW. Catch up with our Arrow recap/reviews!
