It’s not as if the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past doesn’t have enough mutants showing up, but the recent Empire Magazine cover release has brought up a question concerning one character that we thought was answered long ago. Bryan Singer made it clear (or so we thought) that Anna Paquin’s Rogue wasn’t going to be showing up. But now she’s on a magazine cover, so what’s up with that? Find out what Singer had to say below.
So, even though he claimed that the one sequence that Rogue appeared in had been cut from the final flick, he said this:
It does not mean that we won’t see her in the film.
A pretty vague answer that doesn’t really address the question the way we might like, unfortunately. Others have postulated that she might have ended up in a scene that didn’t get cut, just lurking in the background. Another good play on it is that Paquin’s face will appear on the mural of slain mutants that is the iconic image for the Days of Future Past comic arc. There’s also the possibility of a flashback.
On another note, he did say he’s hoping to get the missing sequence in which Rogue does really-really appear into the eventual DVD release. So there’s that.
Once again, we’re going to have to sit around and wait til the film releases to figure it all out. Check out X-Men: Days of Future Past when it hits the big screen come May 23rd.
Thanks to Bleeding Cool for the heads-up.
