Today – February 11, 2014 – marks the beginning of production for the second most anticipated sequel to be released in 2015. (If you don’t know what the first is–welcome to the internet! How was life under that rock?)
Director Joss Whedon began filming Avengers: Age of Ultron earlier today in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa–where the first ten minutes of the film are reportedly going to take place. However, none of the big players (Scarlett Johannson, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, et cetera…) have begun filming, making me wonder just WHO’S gonna be in this opening segment?
Whedon will film for two weeks in the South African city–after that the production will head to Italy, then South Korea, and finally Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom–where the bulk of the project will be filmed (and where most of the first Avengers flick was made).
We’ll have more info for you as production continues–in the meantime, the race to May 1st, 2015 and the “Great Sequel Smackdown” begins!
